Honestly, the best part about working in the fashion industry is the freebies. Don't let anyone ever tell you different.
Una, one of the original Miistas and Laura's right hand (wo)man, is great friends with a lovely lady named Puffin who works at Revlon HQ. On the forefront of the cosmetics industry, Revlon celebrates her 80th birthday this year and with the landmark comes a slew of amazing new products. Puffin was kind enough to send over some goodies to the Miista office and we cannot get over how amazing they make us look and feel. While reading up on the press releases we also came to find that Revlon is the inventor of nail enamel! Who knew! But anyway, let's get down to business. PS we haven't been compensated at all
for this review and we are in no way affiliated with the company -- just excited to have been given some freebies and wanted to share our experience with YOU!
First and foremost we must
discuss the PhotoReady products. They are killer. The PhotoReady Perfecting Primer is any girl's must have. It goes on easy and makes your skin so
smooth. We're talking baby's butt. It literally lasts all night and gives you the ideal canvas for foundation -- but you can also just use it alone to diffuse light and soften your face up for those extra close moments, hint hint wink wink. The Perfecting Primer's sister tool is the PhotoReady Eye Primer & Brightener which does wonders for dark circles. Personally, I've been spending a fortune on Bobbie Brown under-eye brighteners and honestly this is just as good and half the price. Both products do wonders for diffusing light -- meaning that the pigments bend and reflect to make you look flawless under any lighting scheme, be it harsh office fluorescent or the flattering dim bar lighting that can take any 6 to a 10. Overall both products work so well, but we'd have to say the best part is the after effect of the Perfecting Primer -- your skin literally turns to butter it's so soft.

So once your canvas is perfected it's obviously time for a little foundation. The Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup is to die for. It's super light and airy so your skin doesn't feel weighted down and clogged, and trust us -- a little goes a long way. It does a fantastic job of giving you even coverage, it's literally undetectable and blends perfectly. To be completely honest, one of our gays works at this NYC nightclub called Westway and on Tuesdays it turns into Westgay for their weekly Gay/Lez night and his manager told him: you can either work in your undies or in drag as a cocktail waitress. Our dear Kelly chose drag, so every week he transforms into Keli Petron. I was just in London working with the Miista ladies (I typically telecommute from NYC) and Una hooked me up with some of the products Puffin sent over. I brought back both the Perfecting Primer and the Airbrush Mousse and can I just tell you I used to have to do literally 8 layers of foundation to cover Kelly's 5 o'clock shadow -- but tonight using the new Revlon products it took one
. So ladies you know that means your little blemish is going to disappear in an instant! But we really mean it when we say a little goes a long way -- if it's covering up 5 o'clock shadow like that
your little imperfections will take the tiniest of dollops. PS doing drag makeup is probably the most fun thing a girl can do on a Tuesday evening.

Now onto the ColorBurst Lip Butter. This product has been available in the US for a little while now but it just hit the UK in March. Literally ladies there was a waiting list
. The Lip Butters exist in virtually every American's purse and it's likely safe to say that it's taking over Britain in a similar manner. And with good reason. Rarely do you find a lip color that moisturizes as well as it pigments. It hydrates like a coco butter -- it is a mix of mango, shea butter and coconut butter -- but somehow it manages to provide vibrant color at the same time. The coolest thing about it is that you can blend different shades together to create your own signature hue. And it's so much easier than a lipstick -- you don't have to worry about your lips drying out and looking desperate for a re-application. 14 shiny colors are available ranging from Peach Parfait to Cotton Candy, Cupcake to Crème Brulee, Tutti Fruitti to Berry Smoothie, Revlon's got you covered from the subtle to the serious pop of color. There's none of the stickiness of a gloss and Revlon infused each shade with Vanilla Absolute fragrance. It's divine. And after a series of product trials 94% of women saw a difference in lip hydration. It's the bees knees. And we at Miista have been going through a serious pink phase so if you're on the same page definitely opt for the Sweet Tart shade -- it's so strongly pigmented but feels exactly like lip balm. You need it.

Finally, Puffin was nice enough to include some of the new Revlon nail varnishes. There's a whole series of fantastic scented polishes that leave your nails smelling surprisingly delish. We recommend the Grape Fizz -- a dark purple sparkly shade with a light grape scent -- and the Raspberry Rapture -- a pretty little medium pink shade with a fun berry scent. She also sent a few of the new enamel shades and if you buy any new colors this season they need to be Red Bikini -- the perfect orange red -- and Blue Lagoon -- the baby blue shade that is taking manicure shops by storm.

We love being able to read makeup reviews from sources we trust -- it makes things so much easier in the end, eliminating that whole trial and error element of drug store cosmetic purchases. So thank you Puffin for giving us the opportunity to test it all out, and everyone reading this -- trust us, you'll love it!
