Photographer Lee Jeffries ventured into London's underbelly to capture images of the homeless population. The results are heart wrenching and so incredibly detailed that you won't be able to look away.
Jeffries began his career as a sports photographer in Manchester until a run in with a homeless woman altered his path. He now solely dedicates his time to photographing the less fortunate and has since won Photographer of the Year and Portrait of the Year through a 2011 competition for Digital Camera Magazine. His series on the homeless is shot exclusively in black and white. Through this medium he is able to capture a level of emotional intensity that is rarely achieved. All of the photos are available on Jeffries' Flickr account but here are a few that we found to be the most powerful.
